Leadership Information

Pack 121 has been blessed with great Cub Scout leaders.  They make the Cub Master’s job easy and are great teachers, advisers, and role models for our boys.  We can NEVER have too much help.  All of our leaders are Volunteers, for them its not a job its a chance to be active with their kids and their friends.

As parents and adult partners, we can do a lot to support the Den’s and our boys.  We also need uniformed leaders willing to lace up every week and help develop our boys into young men.  If every Den Leader had 2-3 Assistants that wouldn’t be too many.  As our boys graduate along their paths, so do our Leaders.  We are always in need of leadership help.  Please consider volunteering as an Adult Cub Scout leader.  There is no cost to our volunteer leaders for putting on the uniform.  The Pack takes care of Adult leader registration fee’s so that our Leaders can focus on the boys.

You don’t have to have a scouting or even outdoor background to be a good leader.  In fact some of our best leaders have never had any previous scouting experience.  You volunteer not only to serve Cub Scouting, but also to serve your son and his friends and to have a positive influence on the youth in your community.

Being a Cub Scout leader is fun, challenging and rewarding. Leaders find that their experiences help them become better parents and better human beings as they dedicate their time, talent, and enthusiasm to Scouting.  Here are a few other benefits as well:

  • Fellowship and fun with other families, sharing your pride in the Scouts’ accomplishments.
  • Helping to enrich and strengthen families.
  • The chance to help Scouts learn good citizenship and to help shape them into men who have strength of character and are sensitive to the needs of others.
  • The opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Scouts as they grow strong in mind and body.
  • A code to live by which sets a worthwhile example for boys and adults.
  • The satisfaction of being a member of a worldwide movement.

There are a couple of requirements that a leader candidate must meet:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older. (For some positions, such as assistant Cubmaster or assistant den leader, the minimum age is 18.)
  • You must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
  • You must agree to abide by the Scout Oath and Law and subscribe to the Declaration of Religious Principle.
  • You must be a person of good moral character and satisfactorily pass a criminal background check.
